Paul Prestopino *
Paul's family moved to Roosevelt from Brooklyn in 1949, and, with only a short break (1959-1962), he has lived in Roosevelt ever since.
Paul plays all the fretted instruments, plus harmonicas and the occasional recorder. He began his professional musical career in 1961 as accompanist with the Chad Mitchell Trio, played behind Peter, Paul & Mary for fifteen years, and has recorded with numerous folk, pop, and rock-and-roll artists. He presently divides his time between work as a designer/builder/maintainer of pro audio equipment, backing up various folk musicians, and playing for contra dances and English country dances.
In addition to the Roosevelt String Band, he is also a member of Hold The Mustard (English country dance), the Jugtown Mountain String Band (old-time), and the Magnolia Street String Band (bluegrass).
