Hunter Ellentuck
Hunter is a third generation Rooseveltian, and, having moved to the community in 1994 at the tender age of four, has been heavily influenced by the town, its people, and the surrounding area. He attended Roosevelt Nursery School, Roosevelt Public School, and Hightstown High School before pursuing an education at Syracuse University, where he received a B.A. in Political Science. From 2012 to 2015 he lived in Bangkok, Thailand, where he taught English to adults, saw as much of Asia as he possibly could, and worked feverishly on his photography. Now he lives in Harlem with his girlfriend and house plants, and is trying to apply the techniques and style he developed in Asia to the American lifestyle, although he does frequently return to Roosevelt, which still has a strong hold over him.
Hunter shoots a mix of film and digital, and although he generally prefers the process and aesthetics of film, he acknowledges that it does have limitations. He considers himself to be a street photographer at heart, but has recently begun experimenting with astrophotography and large scale panoramas. He is self taught (unless you count youtube) and is thankful that his parents kept a well stocked library of photo books during his youth.
While he works on completing his web site, feel free to check out his Facebook page at "Hunter Brr," where he posts most of his work.
